For our sixth episode of the Suit of the Week, I’ve gone for a cloth specifically with Tuesday’s Shirt of the Week in mind, choosing a fabric that will really complement the robust shirt choice.
I decided on a royal blue herringbone cloth from Holland & Sherry’s Intercity line, in a 370g per metre weight. It’s a really striking colour, a little less dark than a navy blue but still conservative and stylish. For me, it is the epitome of the traditional blue suit, with the ever-so-slightly lighter colour meaning this is a classic-with-a-twist. And, the subtle herringbone pattern gives another little flourish of style within the traditional blue suit framework. It’s a suit that will take you from meetings during the day to a dinner date in the evening.
This suit is high on my list of wardrobe staples, and I think it looks amazing in a single-breasted, one-button configuration (with the high button stance that is becoming a staple of the House of Mogg). And, of course, it’ll look über-elegant in Max’s double-breasted style that we all know and love. This is probably my favourite Suit of the Week so far — you’ll love it too! BTWB
