This week’s suit choice is a lovely Brown Pinstripe Flannel by Fox Brothers (from their Worsted Flannel bunch) in 100% Superfine Merino Wool, weighing 290 grams per metre. Max and I both really love a pinstripe suit, and to see it in brown is really something special.
When I was a boy, my grandfather always loved wearing brown suits. He was a painter and decorator by trade, so by definition he only wore suits as his ‘Sunday best.’ He grew up in the 1930s, so wearing a suit was something he valued and took great pride in. And as a result, my old grandpa would definitely fit into the Mogg vibe!
And, because brown isn’t as common as it was back in Gramps’s heyday, you can really make your mark by choosing this gorgeous shade in the 2020s. It’s dark and elegant, and the colour has a certain warmth to it that is quite unique and ideal for the colder days.
They loved a double-breasted suit back in the 30s, and this particular fabric would look great with the signature Mogg DB style. I just wish my grandfather was still alive to wear one. As I said before, he’d be so pleased to see the love of suits here at the House of Mogg! BTWB/YYS
