The Suit of the Week – Episode 15 – Bob’s choice

by

Bob The wardrobe builder

Our suit this week is a fabric we adore – flannel. It comes in a colour combination we’ve not proposed before in this series. We’ve chosen a beige and brown Prince of Wales check from Standeven’s Oxbridge Flannel line of cloths. It is a Super 120s cloth weighing 370g per metre.

Whilst the greys and blues have a magnetic draw for us at Mogg Towers, we mustn’t forget the gorgeous earth tones. This time around, we’ve done proper justice to that particular colour palette. We absolutely love a Prince of Wales check, and in this tonal combination it looks very satisfying.

It is incredibly pleasing to the eye, but also different enough from the rest of your wardrobe that it will attract attention without sacrificing elegance or formality. And, remember our Shirt of the Week – the purple, white and blue multicheck from Thomas Mason? This suit and that shirt are made for each other, like a hand-in-a-glove, a knockout combination!

Regular readers will know what I’m going to say now, but I’ll say it anyway! Whether you go for the classic Mogg double-breasted style or, my preferred, single-breasted style with either one or three buttons and a notch lapel, this fabric will accompany you through the autumn and well beyond. Pick your look and you too will be digging these earth tones as much as we do! BTWB/YYS
