Multistripes! You know we love them, and Max has chosen an absolute stunner for our Shirt of the Week this time around.
It’s a purple(ish), plum(ish) thin double stripe on a white background, from Thomas Mason’s Regent line of cloths. I love the detailing of the design as the thin double stripes look a bit thicker without being solid. It gives the shirt a je ne sais quoi quality – very special. It’s the kind of shirt that really punches up a lounge suit, and the colouring is such that it will look great with a wide variety of fabrics and colours. Grey and/or blue would be my first choices, but you can get very creative with your outfits if you wear this shirt.
The other thing I love about this cloth is that you can pair it with some great neckwear choices. I’d love to see it with a green tie (maybe with purple spots), or something navy. Another lovely choice with the plum stripes would be orange (try it!). The contrast is amazing, trust me!
This shirt is versatile and it’ll look smashing with single or double cuffs, with matching or with contrasting white collar and cuffs. My preference would be my full cutaway collar and double cuffs (in matching fabric), although a contrasting white Zee Jerman collar would also be very much on point.
This shirt will be one of your faves once it finds its way into your wardrobe. It certainly will be one of mine. BTWB/YYS
