I’ve chosen a fabric in my favourite shirt colour for this week’s episode and, if I do say so myself, I’m really pleased with my choice as this is a personal favourite.
To be specific, it’s a pink and white multistripe from Thomas Mason’s Emerald line of cloths, and it really is stunning. It is a series of very fine pink strips banded tightly together to give the appearance of one thicker stripe, with a pair of slightly wider white stripes on either side of a trio of those thin pink stripes. It’s subtle, yet bold at the same time, given the colour and pattern, and will look fantastic with a whole range of lounge suits and/or with a multitude of blazers.
Tie choices — as Cole Porter wrote, and Frank Sinatra (among others) sang — Anything Goes! I love blue and/or green with pink, but there’s loads of other amazing choices as well. Use your imagination and trust your taste!
As for jackets and suits, the great thing about pink is that you can pair it with any shade of blue, grey, green (I’m thinking tweed blazer here) and brown (a slight hint at our upcoming Suit of the Week).
Once it is in your possession, this shirt will be one you go back to again and again. Its elegance and versatility will make it a staple piece in your wardrobe. BTWB/YYS
