Summer is here (although Berlin’s weather has been a bit too patchy for my liking) and, as a result, I’ve chosen a fabric with bright and jolly colours for the Shirt of the Week.
The cloth is a pink, white and blue check from Thomas Mason’s Zephir line. It is a small, subtle pattern, that is extremely versatile. Wear it properly suited and booted, with a tie, or go sans neckwear with a blazer, and it looks absolutely on point. I think my first choice would be to go with the signature Mogg double cuff and my usual full cutaway collar, but I could also see this shirt with a three-button barrel cuff.
If you do choose to wear a tie, this shirt gives you loads of options. Dark navy with blue and/or pink spots. Go for a tie with a lovely paisley or ancient madder styling, or even something with traditional regimental stripes. That’s the beauty of this shirt — even with the bright colours, the shirt pattern is still relatively muted and can serve as a lovely backdrop to any outfit. I love this shirt, you’ll love this shirt, and you’ll look like a million bucks wearing it! BTWB
